There are many types of printing technology available today, the most
familiar of which are ink and laser based processes; however, below we
have listed all the types of printers that we can provide you with.
|
Ink
Inexpensive, quiet, and reasonably fast, ink printers are the most
common type of printer available for personal computers today and
continue to prove to be useful in many different applications,
industries, and market segments. Ink printers use liquid ink packaged in
user replaceable cartridges; usually color and black are the only
choices, but recently, special photo ink cartridges have begun to become
popular. With ever increasing speeds and features, ink printers
will likely remain king of the computer printer market for some time to
come, of course this is the computer industry, anything could happen.
G&H Computers offers many brands of ink printers, but usually stock only
HP.

Laser
Another popular type of computer printer, laser printers use a dry
process to print high quality text and graphics. They have
traditionally been priced out of the range of most home and small
business users, but over the past few years prices have fallen
dramatically to the point that even the most expensive types, color
lasers, have become easily affordable. Laser printers are generally used
for high-volume printing due to their speed and ultra low cost per page
as compared to ink printers. Customers can purchase either new or
refurbished laser printers from G&H Computers.

Thermal
Used mainly for receipt printing and portable printing needs, thermal
printers use heat and specially coated paper to produce the text that
other printers produce. They print faster and more quietly than
impact printers and can be built into very tight places making them
ideal for applications such as receipt printers at filling pumps and
kiosks. These printers are special order items only so you will
not find them in the store.

Impact
Also known as dot matrix printers and not nearly as popular as they were
before the arrival of ink and laser printers, these printers use force
to transfer ink to the paper, much like a typewriter. Today they
are mainly used in businesses that require printing of multi-copy forms
and aren't suitable for printing graphics of any kind. Because of
the slim market share, impact printers tend to be expensive, however
with the proper maintenance they can last several times longer than the
computers that run them, decades in fact. Impact printers are
considered special order, however, G&H Computers can sell you a
refurbished impact printer is you would like to get a form printer on a
budget. |
